If you are running Windows XP home then you're out of luck, as it does not support dual processors.

If I remember correctly, doesn't XP need a license pack to utilize multiple CPU's? I could be wrong.

Please go into system device manager and change the computer to a multiple processor system (ACPI or not). This will load a new HAL that supports SMP. Upon rebooting both your processors should now be visible in task manager.

Do you mean I should update driver of "computer" in device manager? But Where can I find the multiple processor driver?

That's right. Click on the computer to change it's driver and then let Windows display the ones available.

Best to select the ACPI multi-processor system driver and let that install.

Once you've done you should come back to these forums giving word it now works fine as I'm sure this will be the case.

In Device Manager, Processors category shows there are two processers. But when I use "Scan for Hardware Change", nothing changed, and the computer category shows "acpi PC". When I update driver for it, there are only two I can select from, ACPI PC and standard pc.
no Where to get the ACPI Multiprocessor dirver.

Standard PC is definetly a uni processor HAL driver.

Tell it to display ALL drivers, not just the ones it thinks are compatible with your hardware. Once done you'll see there are more to choose from.

When I unselect "show compatible hardware", there are still two selections as before.

Well in that case the settings have messed themselves up somehow. Boot from the Windows XP CD and choose the Windows XP repair option. It should then bring things upto how they should be.

Don't worry about WinXP activation. I have reactivated mine at least 2 dozen times with all kinds of hardware variations. One time I had to talk to somebody on the phone but even then it only took a few minutes to explain.
