OK I have a Lexar USB 2.0 256mb thumbdrive that works fine in all my machines except for one, It doesn't work in the FRONT USB ports on this particular machine, it's OS is XP in an Antec Lanboy case with an Epox 8RDA+ MB, other devices work fine in these front ports but not this little drive, it does work in all the other back ports though, the problem is when I plug it in the OS sees it but it won't install it is a removabel drive, just shows it as an unknown USB source. Any ideas?

Hmmm....does the drive work okay in USB 1.1 ports? Are the back ports USB 1.1 or 2.0, same question on the front ports.

What happens if you go into device manager and manually point the driver updating to the driver CD/location?

Does any device work in the front ports? I have the same case and mine with with both my usb drives without a problem. Perhaps the wiring for the front ports is incorrect. Just a thought.

The drive works fine in USB 1.1 ports (at 1.1 speed) the back 4 ports are USB 2.0, not sure about the front ports though

As I said in my original post other devices work fine in the front ports so I wouldn't think wiring to be an issue.
