Why would they make you wait 24 hours after inflating the exercise ball?

Got one of these suckers today. The instructions (that I'm debating whether or not to follow...I mean...I'm kind of embarassed to admit I even look at the instructions for a big ball) say that you should inflate it to 80%, then don't use it and let it sit for 24 hours. Then inflate it fully, then let it sit without using it for another 24 hours. What the hell? What's the logic there?

Doing this allows the molecular bonds to stretch and reform into a more robust configuration. This is common amongst only the highest quality exercise balls. Everyone knows this.

And here I thought it was to prevent the fatties (that think an exercise ball will help them lose weight) from popping the ball. Give it a day before you kill it, fatty!! ;)

Well, technically, "a more robust configuration" would help prevent fatties from damaging the ball, right?
