Why would some one buy a Ge Force 6600 when he can get a Ge Force 6200GE

Cause their specs are;

GeForce 6200
Video Memory 128 MB DDR
Engine Clock 300MHz
Memory Clock 550 MHz(275MHz DDR)
RAMDAC 400MHz
Bus Standard AGP 8x/4X
Memory Interface 128-bit

Is there any other parameters to check when buying a VGA ??

6600 have 8 pipelines 3 vertex shaders. 6200s have 4 pipelines and 2 vertex shaders(not so clear on vertex shaders for 6200 though). either way, a 6200 is stil ltherotically only 1/2 as fast as a 6600. you'd need a 600core/500memory 6200 to compete with a 300 core/500 memory 6600 if both use 128bit. now if ti was 64bit 6200 v.s. 128bit 6600, then you'd need 600/1000 to compete.

Why you ask??

the 6200 even being overclocked will not even be as nice as a 6600, the bigest diference is the pipelines are doubled on the 6600. That is why.

I just don't like the term 'GE' on a graphics card. It really doesn't scream fast, but instead maybe sloer than the original 6200.
