I mean, its not like theres dangerous people out there who might wish to harm a congressman or something.
Or is she hoping to spot a black kid with skittles?
Lauren Boebert has a point - as you allude to Lauren Boebert supporters are out there and they are dangerous people.

High School drop out with a criminal record?
Sure..
It's the US.
You can bring your gun into the capital because "danger" is lurking and you never know whenever you might be challenged to a duel.

Even the stupidest opportunist absent an ethical core can see a huge opportunity in feeding off an established cult. Parasitic behavior is ancient.

People who are afraid of the violence of others and lack objective evidence of a real threat are generally speaking full of suppressed hostile rage meaning they struggle within not to kill others. It's all about projection. But because we all suffer from that to a greater or lesser degree this fact is neither common knowledge much less the first fact that is universally obvious. If we didn't hate ourselves for what we were made to feel we would all know the meaning of enlightenment personally.

The rules say she has the right to carry a gun. Clearly she's using that right to garner attention for whatever reason.

Yes, they are all doing the gun stuff for attention because Republicans don’t really stand for or believe in anything other than this performative crap. (Well, they like cutting taxes for rich people)

Republican elites support cutting taxes for the rich. I doubt their voters care much about it one way or another. No, for their voters it's pretty much the performative crap. Oh, and abortion.

Oh their voters definitely don’t care, I was talking about the reps in Congress. If anything their voters dislike tax cuts for the rich but once partisanship gets involved they end up supporting them anyway.

It is one consistently bizarre thing about modern American conservatism. When in power Republicans don’t really pass any laws that their voters like - but their voters like that the opposition is unhappy, and that’s apparently enough.

To those Repubs that bring weapons to work in the Capitol, these pieces (the guns, not those other pieces of work) are gimmicks and symbols of the conservative belief that we all have the right be armed to the teeth anywhere, everywhere we please to go. These legislators are making that statement to the nation in no uncertain terms. They're proud to show off their pieces (the guns) in representation of their belief that having those concealed instruments of dealing death to others in a very convenient little package helps everyone around them be safe from "the baddies" that wish them harm, despite the fact that others would rather have these (pieces and pieces of work) out of sight and especially out of range.

Yeah, I'm going to post this link here:

To illustrate just how far under water the GOP is on virtually every issue of national significance. For example, 68% of Americans support the $1.9 trillion stimulus bill which is getting zero republican votes in the Senate.

In any truly just world, the GOP would long ago have been forced to either move leftward on policy or become widely unelectable. It's only this propaganda fueled culture war that keeps them afloat.

Another toddler elected, Madison Cawthorn, has bragged about being armed in the House chambers.

It is very easy to determine with a quick search that DC does not recognize the concealed carry permits from any state. None, nada, zip....

So unless Cawthorn, Boebert, and probably others have applied for a DC non-resident carry permit, which requires about 36 hours of in person training by the DC Metro police to obtain, they are what we expect, just fucking criminals.

Boebert has obtained a carry permit for DC-

Colorado has always been an open carry state. Sidearms as a fashion statement is a relatively recent development, however.

Even if one has a permit you still can't carry a firearm on federal property or any government building AFAIK. You and I can't get away with it that for damn sure. Is this another case of republicans thinking they are above the law once again?

I live in an open carry state. 18 and older and not banned from owning a gun can open carry. Federal buildings is strictly off limits, for open carry and concealed carry (with permit). It is illegal to even pull through a USPS parking lot to drop mail in a drop box.

Not to mention if you or I talked about killing people we work with 2 years ago or Jewish space lasers we wouldn't even be permitted to own a weapon. But in the US they grant nuts like these carry permits in D.C.

Speaking of, I'm the head of the architecture review board in my HOA. We have an owner that backs up to our jogging trail and they think they own all the land all the way up to the trail, when in reality their property line ends 25' before the trail. They been told multiple times, and they always lose their shit on whoever tells them (they've called the police on multiple people and our lawn crew).

Any ways last week they decide to build a fence, of course without getting it approved, on the HOA property. I got the lovely job of going over and tell them to move it. Of course the POS is open carrying the whole time, then the wife showed up imprinted too. Yelling at me about how I was "stealing their property." I just don't understand living life so scared that you think you need to carry a gun at your own house in the highest income per capita zip code in the state.
