Why would ram suddenly STOP running @ aggressive ram timings?

I used to have my ram running @ 8882622 on my Epox 8k7a+, but for some reason all my programs began to crash. I set the timings back to SPD, and things have been fine so far. Is there anything wrong with my stick of Crucial? Is it a sign of a dying stick of ram or anything?

I've never heard of anything like a "dying stick of ram".

Usually they are fuxxord from the begining (or by bad handling) and will give you errors... or they just work.
