WHy would my monitor drivers randomly uninstall??

I turned off my comp last night, everything was fine. I turn it on this morning and my resolution is down, and everything looks crappy...I checked my monitor settings...and everything was reading' default monitor' like there were no drivers installed...what gives?

edit: it's a samsung syncmaster 730B

You might have uninstalled your gfx card drivers. Were you uninstalling unneeded programs last night?

nope. I haven't uninstalled anything in ages, haven't needed to. My computer was simply idling yesterday.


any virii that would do that??

WTF...i also can't change refresh rate...and under video driver version and all those listings it says this:

wtf??



also my power fan is going at like 900 miles per hour....


edit: somehow my nvidia drivers uninstalled themselves.....I got the newest one and it fixed the problem....wtf

i had that happen to me when oc'ing with an underpowered psu. everytime i booted i'd lose my drivers. iirc, it actually gave me an error on boot though. "something couldn't be started" and it was always my nv drivers.
