Why would my abs hurt?

Its strange, my abs have really been hurting for the past 2-3 days....

I havent worked them out much at all in the past 2 weeks...
I use the elliptical exercise machines for 35 minutes everyday at the gym, but none of them focus on my abs.
I've also taken the past 3 days off the gym since im away from home...

Any idea why my abs would be very tender and tight?

Well, your abs hurt, which is a good thing. Better than having a right forearm like popeye.
