Why would my 2016 chevy Malibu lt be sputtering when idle?

My Malibu sputters when I'm about to stop, when I'm in drive at a red light, and when I hit the gas. no engine check light is on. Its also super hesitant when hitting the gas.

Could be any number of things... dirty air cleaner or fuel filter, distributor or plugs, vacuum leak or just lousy gas.

if you run the tank to E a lot then it could be some build up in the filter and even injectors. Or any number of other things. Grab a live scanner and see what it says. You can look at fuel trims and such.

could be the oxygen sensor if it is clogged .

Basic troubleshooting, start with code reader> no codes> now down to Is it electrical< mechanical or fuel.

Maybe the MAF sensor is dirty?

A dirty one can cause hesitation when starting from a complete stop.
