Can anyone come up with some good reasons a gamer such as I would go with an Intel CPU rather then an AMD?

Thanks,

well, for me, the reason to go with Intel was twofold:

1: i've had great experiences with intel so far. this does not mean AMD is not good, i just KNOW intel is good from experience.

2: chipsets. From all i know AMD makes great CPU's. the people who make the chipsets for these cpu's however, screw up on a regular basis. maybe if AMD would start making their own chipsets, i would switch, but i've just seen to much problems with VIA for example.

that's why i choose Intel again, and i haven't had any regrets so far. i must say i'm not really a hardcore gamer though.

I choose Intel , because i have NEVER had any issues with any of their products. AMD make great CPU's, but the boards and chipsets can be crappy.

Intel chipsets, and boards are generally more reliable, and you have more options with Intel as well.

AMD, are lightning fast at games no doubt, and 64Bit will be great in about 12mths or so.

However my 3.2 Extreme Edition flys with my Max 3 board. The difference between the brands in gaming IMO are really not that huge.I think Intel is better overall, as it offers a better package, peripherals etc.

However, i won't say i will never use AMD in the future.

Whichever you go with , im sure you won't be disappointed.
