You could never get an accord Hybrid with a manual transmission unless you can prove otherwise.

My apologies. I assumed the Accord came in MT, since all of their other hybrids sans the G2 Insight had MT variants (to my knowledge).

EDIT: I'm surprised to read that it came with a 5-speed automatic. Is that the same transmission that was known for its high failure rates?

The crappy transmissions the accords had were from '98-'03/04 on their V6 models and that includes acura as well. Yes there are some overlap on good/non failure prone transmissions for the tail end of the years.

You know what makes no sense? Pickup trucks and SUVs.

Please use conditions in statements like that. Pickups make all kinds of sense for people that use them as pickups. I'm about to go hook up a dump trailer to mine, stop at the lumber yard for 3300 pounds of concrete and a bunch of 16 and 20 foot lumber, then head to work. My truck works every day, lumping it in with useless 4 door short bed penis enhancement devices damages my fragile ego.

I'll take the bait, you know what doesn't make sense, motorcycles. Who would ride on one of those death machines must not be right in their head. :sneaky:

But I own a truck and a motorcycle. Now I just want to set them both on fire. Thanks ATG. :(

Well, since pickup trucks make up fully 50% of all vehicle sales in the U.S. I'd say that most people who buy them probably fall into this category. Most of the people who actually use trucks as work vehicles seem to own older trucks anyway... not the shiny new $50k trucks you see all over the place with one person driving himself to work with nothing in the bed.

Your ego should be intact. ;)

I'm disappointed there aren't more PHEVs on the market. I have a 7 mile commute to work. With a PHEV, I'd almost never go to the gas station (I currently spend about $150/mo fueling up my thirsty V6 for short commutes in traffic). But most manufacturers only offer them in NE states and California.

Plus the free charging stations @ work are the best parking spots.

That 7 mile stuff is brutal on the engine. I'd ride a bike if the climate works for it.

Hell, you can get an electric bicycle with that range for practically nothing.

What's wrong with a Focus, CMAX, Accord or Volt?

Frankly, I love the Accord. IMO it's one of the best hybrids on the market right now.
