Why would AGP Texture Acceleration not be available?

I have an ATI 9500p, EPoX 8RDA+, SB Value Live sound card and DX9.0a.

When I run dxdiag, in the display tab it shows AGP Texture Acceleration Not Available, and the line greyed out. I've tried reinstalling the mobo chipset drivers, the gc drivers, dx9, and crying. Nothing seems to work. I've contacted EPoX, ATI, and the place I bought my computer from, none of them have a clue, or are saying it's the fault of someone else.

I've taken the computer to two different repair shops in the area, and one them told me the 9500p didn't have agp acceleration available.

Frankly, I'm at a loss. I'd really like to have AGP Accel available, but no one seems to be able to help me. I'd appreciate any help that was given.

This could be related to your agp appature (sorry bad spelling) size (eg if it's set to 4mb or 8mb it basicly disables agp) it's also sometimes called the Graphics Win Size, ect... basicly it's the amnt. of system memory the bios will let agp use for textures and if it's set to low you won't be able to use agp texturing. I'd check this setting in the bios, normaly it's a good idea to set this to 1/2 the size of your system ram. Hope this helps...

I have the Appeture size set to 128. I originally had it at 64, but one of the shops I had the box in said to change it to 128. So 128 it was.

I've been reading all the posts on "agp texture accel." that I could find on Google. A lot of the fixes for people (none with my exact setup of Mobo, and GC) have had to do with installing the drivers in a particular order. Why would it matter what order you installed the drivers? Unless there is some sort of conflict with the driver pertaining to the AGP Tex accel. ANyone have an idea on this?

Also, most of these fixes were for people using a chipset based off VIA. My chipset is intel. The nForce2.

I've copied a couple to notepad, and I'll print them out and try them at home. But if it is something that simple, then wouldn't it mean that there was some larger cause involved?

Nforce 2 is an Nvidia chipset Have you had any luck finding a fix for this?, you might want to try using Driver Cleaner and then reloading the Nforce chipset drivers (make sure your using the 2.45's from nvidias website) and then your ATI drivers. Hope this helps....
