Why wont this network printer stay defaulted?

We have a office using 13 windows xp machines and 4 printers. We have 5 of the computers defaulting to printer #3. For some reason though everyday these computers lose that printer as default and no printer is then defaulted. So I set it as default again only to have it undefault later.

Is there a way to force a printer to stay default in windows xp?

Are you using a login script to add the printers or are you manuanlly adding the printers? If you are using a login script double-check the script to make sure its formatted correctly, i.e. the correct switches are being used for the correct printers. Also, if you are running a login script make sure the users aren't closing the script before it completes running.
