Why won't the buttons on my Umax Astra 3400 work?

There are four buttons on the front, one for scaning, one for copying, one custom button and a power saving button. I have the thing and software installed, and it scans fine using software, but none of the buttons work.

On the bottom right next to your time you should have an icon that looks like a scanner, this is called "UMAX Vista Access". Right click on it and on the menu that pops up is "push button configuration". Use that to set up your buttons. Good Luck!
