Why wont people just make out in The Sims Online?

I don't get it.

It's a stupid game. I was hanging out in some house and I tried to make out with some woman and she yelled at me and told me I needed to take it slow before we did that.

IT'S A STUPID ONLINE BETA TEST!!

Take it slow.. eesh.. people are dumb.

I really think this game will only be a success with older women. What guy wants to pay $10 a month to chat to people and have no missions or quests or anything really..?

The game will be dominated by the early adopters and people who join later wont have as much fun because everyone will be going to the big popular houses.

Oh well. It's off my machine for good.

A Rape In Cyberspace may give you some insight. In fact, the way it sounds, The SIMS is to EQ/UO as fantasy MUDs are to thsoe formless chat dimensions where people just role-play for the hell of it with no defined world or goals.

The whole thing is kind of frightening to me, for the very fact that there are people that take it more seriously than real life.

To me it is just a game.

I would glady walk around and man whore myself to every character in the game, be it man, woman, or animal. If you need to abide by the real world rules in a game like the sims, why not just get off your computer, go outside, and live it yourself?
