this is annoying, I usially use Roxio 7, but when i burn mp3cds with it the track order gets all fusked up, burns fine up to 48x

so i have to use nero for mp3 cds but it will not burn over 8x, i have aplextor 708a that can burn much higher but nero 6 wont do it it just gives me an error every time

what the hell is going on

Is it a free ware version of Nero or full version? I had a program once that wasn't a full version and it wouldn't let me burn at full speed. If it's full version, have the latest updates? Check the settings in Nero via Preferences? Is the burner supported by Nero? (I'm trying to find that on their site right now, no luck so far).

Well according to the log you do not have DMA enabled for any of your devices.

yea i noticed that as well, but roxio doesnt care about that

and i cant enable it, the option is not there in device manager drive properties, and actually ive never seen the option to enable DMA on any computer i have

You sure you've been looking in the right place?
This is for Win2k, not sure if it's exactly the same in XP, but I guess it's similar.

It's under the IDE ATA/EIDE controllers not the actually drive.

I have NVIDIA NForce IDE controller listed there and no option for DMA in properties

ok so i clicked on UPDATE DRIVER and it went on the web and Dled the MS Dual channel IDE driver, rebooted now i have DMA settings an nero is working fine at 40x as i type this
very odd IMO, why dont the NForce Drivers support DMA?
