Why won't my NVIDIA video card work on my IWILL KK266 mobo?

I just got a new kk266, reformatted, clean install, all updated drivers and bios. Using a Hercules 3d prophet g2 MX and whenever I try to run ANY application other than windows, my comp freezes up. I have to reboot with reset swith to unfreeze. I took the G2 MX out, installed my old Voodoo5 5500 and everything works FINE. Why can't I get the NVIDIA card to work??
