Why won't my computer go into suspend mode?

I have the system in the sig. and whenever i hit suspend it goes into suspend mode and then comes back right after the screen goes blank. I have no idea why it would be doing this. I dont think it is a faulty motherboard unless the abit be6-2 has suspend problems because i have had this whole system on two different be6-2 motherboards

It probably has something to do with the programs that are running on your computer at the time you try to activate suspend mode. For instance, I know that the SETI@Home and RC5 clients access the hard disk from time to time and that kills suspend mode. Close whatever you can in the taskbar and system tray and see what happens.

I had similar problems with my old computer and it turned out to be driver conflicts with my MPEG decoder card. There is a program that microsoft offers that will tell you which program is creating the conflict. If you go to their support page and do a search for suspend, sleep, or something similar it should turn up a link to the program.

Good Luck!!
