My AA won't turn on whatever I do. I reinstalled drivers, unisntalled, installed drivers, installed various drivers..

nothing works

What should I do? I have a 6600GT.

Of course I set it to "2xQ" AA in the settings. I've tried all of them, and no matter what, AA will not be on in any of my games.

this is beginning to irritate me to no end.

EDIT:
I just found out however that nvidia just plain sucks at AA. My AA works fine, except my older 9700pro's 2x is far superior to my current 6600gt's 2xQ.

2x on my previous 9700pro looked cleaner whereas the 6600 still looks grainy in the distance.

Do you have it set so that antialiasing is application controlled? If you do then it's probably relying on you turning AA on from within the games themselves.

Try going to Desktop Properties > Settings > Advanced > Geforce 6600GT and on the side slide-out menu, go to Performance and Quality Settings. Here you should be able to check if it's set to Application Controlled, atleast assuming your settings are laid out the same way mine (6800GT) are. If the Application Controlled checkbox is checked, unchecking it should free up AA.

Hope this helps!

Well, the only place I'd set it to 2xQ is the same place where it has the "application controlled" check box, so of course it's off.

that's a shame.

Hmm.. 2XAA works fine on my new 6800GT. Just upgraded from a 9800p too.
