The topic is covered in detail here.

I am recently coming off a suspension of my account. When I post, I am asked for my username and password. I include this and then ask it to remember me so I don't have to log on each time. But, while a post or a reply goes through, when the page refreshes with the list of topics, the button on the upper right reads "login," not "logout." In other words, I'm still not officially "logged-in." What's even more confusing about all of this is that my preferences for # of threads on a page and # of posts in a thread are maintained despite my ostensibly being refused access to the forums on a "permanent" basis.

The three strangest things about this and the three things that make me think perhaps this is a sort of probationary precaution being put on my account are the following:

1. When I click Submit to post a message, I see a quick filler screen that says "refreshing messages." I have NEVER seen that in the past but am seeing it now.

2. After I login using the forums.anandtech.com/login.cfm page, the resulting page is not http://forums.anandtech.com/index.cfm....... no, it's http://forums.anandtech.com/index.cfm?NoCookies=Yes

3. I tried doing all of this different stuff on an entirely different computer (a 3.06 ghz school lab computer that's perfectly maintained) and I had precisely the same problems.

These three things make me think that something has been done to my account to prevent it from logging on with a cookie permanently.

Can anybody help or shed light on the issue? Thanks.
