I need to get both USB ports working on a friends computer. One works fine and whatever you plug in, a window pops up. The other has never been used before. We tried to use it today and nothing will show up. We uninstalled devices that WORK on usb#1, but they will not work when plugged into usb#2.

No IRQ conflicts, nothking yellow under system devices. The OS is windows2000sp1. Im on a dialup here so no to getting sp2. In the bios it says USB enabled or disabled (we have enabled).

Is there any chance that one of the USB headers is fu*ked? I can swap out the mobo (pc-shitties 810) but if there is something else I would ather try that. I am lookin for an updated USB driver now.

I second your diagnosis. Its sucks when you get a defective board. RMA the b@tch or recomend that your friend get a powered usb hub.

Oh im at work and got 20 of them. Just dont feel liek swappin them out. It just seems unlikely that only 1 USB conroller was dead, but I guess due to the high quality of the board, it is likely.
