Why will XP only allow me to save images as .BMP?

Right click on image and only option is .bmp even though its a .jpg why is this?

That's like the POS computer that I got asked to fixed last weekend. (friend's parents, you know)

Their browser will only save images as .bmp or .art AND if I save it as .bmp, I can't even open it afterwards......

Of course, I figure it out, stupid AOL..........

The original issue was their speaker wasn't loud enough. I fix that in a 30 seconds by moving the plug from "output" to "speaker". 🙂

there are two real reasons:

1) if it's only related to one or two sites then the site has messed up the header it sends (pics.bbzzdd.com had this issue I discovered and Dwell fixed it).

2) if it's all sites then your cache is full and that's sometimes requires you to clear it and shut down all browsers and then go back to the image.
