Why will some images be displayed in a slide show and others won't

Just curious here.

I have to folders on my desktop with identical content (5 images).

When I select the images in one of the folders I can choose to display them in a slide show but when I do the same thing in the other folder I don't get the slide show alterantive.

Any ideas on why this is the case?
