many people do not have abig screen, so they want to watch a movie and fill the screen up to its max.

widescreen, although gives you more picture, makes the movies smaller. this is why people prefer fullscreen.

simple as poop :)

But why eliminate the possibility of ever watching the original content by buying an FS DVD? AFAIK, you can go ahead and just hit the effin zoom button and make a 16:9 picture pan and scan instead.

The people that prefer FS probably don't have a brand spankin new TV with a or DVD player with a Zoom button. I don't know of either function on my DVD player or 27'' tube Zenith TV.

But OTOH, I hate getting stuck with FS movies. I only have a couple, and those were given to me. Thankfully the people who care enough to buy DVDs for me usually know to buy WS or not bother.

Ive never seen a store not let you exchange WS for FS.

Walmart has incredible sales on some DVD's, like $4.50 for a FS version, or $8 for a new release FS, highly doubt you could exchange for the DVD that costs 1.5x as much- 2x as much

link? All the new releases which are, for the most part, the DVDs that are released in both versions are the same price.

Why cant they just include widescreen on one side of the disc and full screen on the other side? I don't think it costs that much more since a few dvds have this and they're the same price as others.
