Why while in games does my monitor lose signal from video card?

I don't understand why all of a sudden this is happening? It never use to do this before, but for some reason everytime while in a game my monitor will lose the signal coming from my video card. Almost like with your monitor shuts off in power saving mode. It's a Gainward GF4 Ti4200. This will happen in games such as Far Cry, Hitman2, R63, NFSU... I tried installing older drivers which I know this never happened but now those older drivers are doing it too. I'm starting to think it could be the card or something else that maybe conflicting with my video card or monitor for some reason? I'm using RivaTuner (have been for almost two years), and I'm also using a Sony G410 with factory drivers from Sony.

If anyone thinks they may have a clue to what's going on please lmk!

Thanks.

Btw, if you look at my systems page it is system # 1.

Are you overclocking your system? (I'm not sure what you meant in your systems rig page when you said 2400Mhz@2400Mhz, as the 2400+ runs at 1.8Ghz by default)

My machine exhibits the same behaviour if I run the FSB at 200Mhz. I limit it to 190Mhz and I am OK. I haven't yet figured out how to overcome this problem.

No... I do not overclock my CPU/FSB. I've tried to reinstall the driver etc... but nothing seems to be working. I think it is time for a new install of Windows. My current install is over 2 years old.

You tried a different PSU?..That`ll rule out a faulty PSU.

I think I found out what's wrong. Almost like we didn't already know? ;)

I'm pretty sure it's the video card. My Gainward Ti4200 is finally showing its age. I tried it on another computer and it did the same thing. I even tried the Monitor on another computer using a 9700. FarCry loaded and everything else worked the way it's suppose to.

Oh well, off to buy another card.
