I thought Lance was retiring after his last victory. When did he decide to rerun the tour?

He has a contract that says he had to do one more race, this is that race.

The reason they started was to adverise their global mail services, IIRC, and now, I guess, that ad compaign is done. Discovery Channel took over sponsorship of the same team. So, same team, different name.

AMD has been a sponsor for at least a couple of years. Apparently they work with Lance on his preparation in the wind tunnel, etc.

He's the most tested athlete in the world. Lance is clean. I doubt steroids could increase his VO2max. :D

That could be true... but would be testable as well. They could test for his natural testosterone level. When you introduce exogenous hormones, your endogenous hormones shut down (which is why people on roids have shrinked nads).

He's one athlete that I actually think is clean of steroids and other performance enhancing drugs. I'm rooting for him.

No I think he wants to win one more and set a record that will probably never be broken again.

I dont know if its true but is it the fact that LA refuses to take a steroid test?

LOL that is funny. The Tour has the toughest anti doping testing of any sport.

Actually, they just leaked out that Lance is providing funding to increase drug testing in the Tour. He's been tested more than any other rider and always comes out clean. But the French press continues to accuse him of doping, so he says "Bring 'em on!"

Yup, the French just don't like Americans coming over to France and kicking butt....just Germans
