I liked the interview w/ the director, but saying that

"Pottersville is virtually Wal-Mart" - referencing "Its a Wonderful Life" is pretty dumb

Oh perfect. A left-wing "military-industrial complex runs all" documentary. Followed by some similar right-wing documentary in response.

That will foster a good debate. Bleh. :frown:

I considered it that long before this movie came out. It's not the movie it's the concept of keeping people poor to make few very rich, instead of just being rich with well paid employees that can own their own stuff and not be at the mercy of their own employer.

Interesting to see how many already have such strong opinions on the movie, even though they haven't seen it.

I just came back from watching it tonight and I highly recommend this movie to everyone

Left wing movie? Michael Moore movie? Please watch it before making such conclusions because you couldn't be more wrong.

It does not praise a political party, it faults both parties for advancing what is known as the military-industrial compex. In fact the only President it really praises is Eisenhower, a Republican.

Do you know of any other movies like this? I've also seen Micheal Moore's documentaries, The Power of Nightmares, Gunners Palace, Supersize Me... I am looking forward too the Enron documentary but I haven't seen much else...

Eisenhower would have no place is the current GOP . . . just like they keep claiming Lincoln despite their "states rights" mantra.

I would say out of those movies you listed, The Power of Nightmares is the 'closest' to this movie's style

It is nothing like Michael Moore's film. It's not partisan and it's not so ... simple

anyone else watch it and share their comments? I'm interested in what people from both sides have to say about this film

I just finished this one, I have to say, I didn't like f/911 that much, and sick of badly produced films, this one is top rate documentry though, I got no feeling whatsoever it was biased, just reporting, heck a lot of the people talking about stuff are PNAC writers, explaining why things are how they are, and the film actually had them make their point, and I actually saw their view, granted it shows the whole picture, and it is not pretty.

Surprisingly informative, and I read a LOT. I came out learning quite a bit. Not your preach to the chorus stuff I expected, a BBC finest.

Now I want to know how they got all these people to interview who you would think wouldn't touch a film that would be about the military industrial complex and think tanks.

Every documentry should strive to be like this one, and it would be nice if there was a newer one also, as the big downer of this movie is that it is dated now to the start of the 3 year old war.
