Why was thread locked in General Hardware?

I simply wanted to make sure they didn't lock it because of one of my posts. I was not looking for a patronizing reply.

It looks to me like

(a) Not really General Hardware,
(b) pm already had a much larger thread going on the same topic

So I assume the mods wanted to simplify things by having only one thread going.
