Locked thread
Why was my thread about the comments of the House Majority Whip locked?

The MOD who locked it posted ?Locked-DP? But there is no other thread discussion what Clyburn said or anything similar.

Furthermore the MOD didn?t identify themselves, but just anonymously locked it.

I thought we had eliminated the practice of locking a thread like this?

And if this is a double post then please point me in the direction of the other post on this subject.

Given the extremely political nature of thread and this sites past history of supposed bias I would think we would want to go out of the way to avoid locking threads unless the reasons is very clear cut. And in this case I don?t see any reason for it to be locked.

The use of DP were the initials of the Moderator, DaPunisher, who handled the thread.

It was an oversight to use the intials and should not happen again. There are some other Moderators which have the initials DP and they will try not to make that mistake.

Its also bullshit that Jrenz got banned. Admittedly, he shouldn't have called Harvey out like that, but he deserves it after his non stop personal attacks and absolutely insane posts.

That wasn't the only thread that Jrenz was verbally abusing other members in.

In how many threads does Harvey abuse other members?

Would you like some links, I have quite a few since I am the most frequent target of his.

I will certainly not defend Jrenz for what he did, but let?s have some balance here.
When you have a senior MOD posting comments such as ?OK. You stand corrected. Now STFU and go stand in the corner like the petulant, pissant lying child you are. " there is a problem.

Well, thats great and all, but Harvey puts everyone to shame in that department. Now I'm not suggesting that Harvey be stripped of his "senior mod" title, from what Red Dawn says Harvey has done a lot of good on these boards and he probably deserves to be a senior mod. But it looks pretty ***** when you have a senior mod acting the way he does in P&N and then you go and ban members for lesser offenses, which is just about anything considering the way Harvey likes to post. When people see a senior mod throwing around personal insults and trolling like its going out of style, don't be surprised when everyone else thinks that its ok for them to do it as well.

What is the appropriate number?
The thread lasted two days and had posted by 2 senior moderators and then all of a sudden it is locked for being a repost?

Find me what it is a repost of and you might have a point, but there is no other topic similar to this one or based on the same source material.

Right at the end if veered off topic and had two posts about one of the MODs. To me it seems that was the real reason it was locked. Which is fine, but if that is the case then let?s be honest about why we are locking threads.

ProjJohn, I believe that lock was signed DP not for 'double post' but rather 'Dr Pizza'. He locked it for the comments that were made at the end. I think those should be deleted and the thread unlocked. But that is a senior mod call, I just wanted to explain the DP since no-one explained it yet.

Edit: Reading the notes DP I think is DAPUNISHER not Dr Pizza...

Thank you, that make a little more sense.

And you are 100% right on deleting the bad comments and letting the thread go. Otherwise people could go around ruining others threads that way.
