It is as if in 1967, a thread about a Zapruder documentary DVD had been locked. This documentary is about a video shot in New-York on 9/11, and I linked to the site about it, which offers a preview, a forum,... This DVD is not sold on amazon or anywhere else, there is no other choice: I can only link to that site if I want to talk about it. It is a capitalist world, not a communist one. If we can talk only about GPL stuff, then you may just as well suppress all the forums and replace them with a Linux one. I use debian, so I guess I won't be too bothered.

Mods: maybe a nice ban for the above poster and delete his thread? He created an extremely troll like thread that proported a ridiculous theory backed-up by the central arguement of "Hi, I'm a random guy with no mechanical engineering skills, but because I think I heard a sound I am suddenly an expert on how a 100 floor building is best destroyed."

EDIT: Also more to the point the thread was clearly commercial, and it seems obvious the OP had a financial interest involved preying on people's paranoia. A good clue was every one of his points referenced the same crackpot video that the site he linked to was affiliated with.

While this is a capitalist society, this is also a privately owned forum. No one has a *right* to free speech here, but are given the privilige of posting here.

I have no idea why your thread was locked... could be inflammatory, or insulting to those that lost ppl, or could be seen as flame bait... dunno why, but just wanted to clear that freedom of speech thing up.

;)

It was locked because your troll thread was nothing but a link that if you wanted to see much of anything at all you had to buy a DVD. You don't get to post that blatant of an advertisement on here for free.

A mod can trace my IP address: it is not in the States. How could someone not even in the same country as that documentary's site make money on it?
Since when can we not talk about things that are sold? Everything is sold at a price in the capitalist system, directly or indirectly, through advertising: hence talking about TV should be forbidden, since it is commercial. We are not in the Soviet Union, where I understand I would have been sent to a gulag instead of having my thread locked.
By the way, I got this documentary through emule, and I wrote in that thread that it can be downloaded for free this way; maybe that could justify the locking. That is capitalism, pervert as can be: one way or another, this and many other threads could be locked. Political threads as well, since for example supporting Bush and his tax cuts can be interpreted as a way to try to make a lot of money (or to help corporations to make a lot of money) by the poster.
As for freedom of speech on forums, once more, capitalism perverts democracy: all popular forums are capitalist, since the banwidth costs a lot of money. So only rich people can regulate speech on popular forums. That is not sane in a democratic society; but capitalism is not democratic, it is oligarchic, plutocratic by nature, so everything is fine, I guess.
As for the "I am not an expert so I am a troll" critic, this documentary contains testimonies by experts interviewed by the History channel. Is the History channel a troll?

Nope, but you are.

I am merely brighter than you. You cannot understand a mind superior to yours. It frustrates you and makes you nervous, angry. To see many trolls around you is your fate. I feel sorry for you. :D

You know what? You're right. Your obviously brighter than me since you spend all day watching "hidden" and "secret" documentaries on E-Donkey. It takes a really bright person to get sucked into Conspiracy Theories. I'm shocked you guys don't get millions a year.
