I know that a fair number of you dual boot Windows and OS X, and with Snow Leopard we finally have a free way to access our OS X drives from Windows, sure it is read only, but it is a start, and you don't have to give up $30 for MacDrive.
Also, as of Tiger I believe, the Finder had the ability to mount and read NTFS drives, which again is handy.
Apparently Snow Leopard added the ability to natively read/write NTFS drives, but it is not enabled by default.
Following this link and the instructions that follow, you too should be able to enable native (meaning no NTFS-3G, MacFUSE, or Paragon necessary) read/write of NTFS drives. I would still exercise caution if creating NTFS formatted drives from OS X, but if you are connecting a Windows drive to your Mac, your life just got easier.
