If it's off-topic, then what is the proper category for it? I thought that GH would give it visibility among those whom it potentially affects.

Because you had a bad experience with an established vendor is not a reason to start a thread tiltled "DONT buy from svc.com". This belongs in Brag and moan. Their ratings over the years show that that they deserve better. Look them up. If you have a problem with them, rate them at the sites that were designed for just that. And now this thread will be locked since you have your answer.
