I was trying to open another public anandtech ut2004 server.


However my thread was locked.


Can i know why please?

Contact the moderators before posting junk like this in ATOT. This thread will be locked also.

Truthfully speaking I don't think that we need another server. I got one up 24/7 and I think that all that another one will do is make confusion about which server one should connect to. If you have two servers you will have half the players on one and another half on another = boring games, considering there are not enough people to even hit the 20 player limit that I have set on mine.

Yes I agree with you somewhat. Right now there isnt many on your server.
BTW thanks for hosting it I have had lots of fun on it. However once the retail comes out many more players will be on the server at all times.

Maybe, all I am doing is giving him something to put into consideration, and while I am at it a Celeron 2.0 with 256mb ram is not exactly a very suitible box for this game. Unfortunatly when you start getting above 15 players my 2.8 with 1GB of ram starts slowing down 🙁I am running mine under cost, and if he wants to run one himself I will in no way stop him... Hopefully it will be good enough for me to shut down mine 😛 (Not happening 😉)
 
It would be nice if we had ONE gaming server, not 5 people offering 5 different servers.

Just my two cents.

We shall see, however, due to the many time zones in which members are in, I don't think that it will be that busy. Actually I would expect the demo server to be busier as the demo was free , but one would need to shell out $40 for the full game.
