Why was my contest thread locked?

Maybe it was locked to keep neffing down after the winnners where posted........ Only a thought. Threads should not be locked however without a reason being posted in the OP, or a PM sent to the original poster however IMO.
 
Hmm. Must have been an accidental lock...

Not like anyone was neffing in it or anything - last post was yours, this morning.
 
Maybe just because the contest was over. A lot of n00bs (and many not so n00bs) were still posting guesses even though the first post obviously said it was closed. I'm guessing locked due to ATOTADHD?
 
But even if its over, the people who received the game might want to celebrate. Or, when they receive the package post pictures....I'm confused. We did nothing wrong and were just having a discussion.

I Thinks its probally cuz of the news that kept posting guesses like others said..... But like I said no thread should be locked without the OP knowing one way or the other why it was locked.
 
Yeah, probably a lock since the contest was complete and they didn't want people freaking out because they didn't win...

seems kind of quick. i didn't know the winners had even been announced and then i find the thread locked?

would have been nice to allow people to hang out for a bit and maybe give a public "thank you" to warcrow for holding the contest.

so i guess i'll say it here- i know its not the first time, but its very nice that you do this warcrow. not everyone would think of holding a give away contest to fellow AT'ers. thanks man!! :beer:

Hey I hope your back feels better Warcrow I had that back muscle spasm thing and its one of the worst pains I ever felt. All they wanted to do was give me tylenol 3. Mine was in the lower back. I haven't had it since. Still don't know what caused it though.

Also according to Ray Nagin, God punished you for picking a number close to the number of the beast, allowing the evil doers to win your contest. Nothing a few prayers and moderate P&N posts can't fix though. Good luck. 😉

i think it was locked because some kid named electron decided to troll and caused a snowball effect of thread hijackery.
 
I don't know why it's been locked, but it seems like there's been a trand lately. I've noticed recently that more threads have been locked in a random (?) fashion than usual, so I have no clue.

Maybe they have a newer MOD on staff now?

I noticed that too, and they often do not have any comment at all. I tried PMing the mods about it but whoever replied did not seem interested in resolving the issue.

The recent "lockage" of threads is in direct corrolation to the tightening on what is allowed and what is not allowed, if one needs to see a comment about why "zOMG SHE IS HAWT!" was locked, I suggest you refrain from posting and get a better idea of what is allowed in this forum and what this forum's purpose is. Although in this case it may not have been clear, but it is not hard to figure out that the number of guesses after the contest has been close is probably the reason in question. My point being that the mods do not have time to explain why each and every thread is locked, and to pester them otherwise is uselss/immature. Not to say that the OP did anything wrong by posting this thread in this situation but a PM probably would have been more efficient. 🙂

Considering some of the stuff you've posted in OT over the past 10 months or so, I tend to disregard any post of yours where your opinion of what's "uselss or immature" is mentioned.

Besides, it's not hard to figure out the difference between a Hot Babe post and Warcrow's giveaway thread.

Which Mod are you trying to suck up to this week?
