Why was BBW discussion locked

This thread seemed like a perfectly reasonable discussion of the use of term BBW by overweight women. Why exactly was it locked?

Because it would have turned into an immature flame fest about "overweight" women. And you're openly flaming overweight women by saying:

...when people instead of trying to get their body to a healthy state call themselves BBW enough times to actually believe theyre beautifull?

I'm sorry it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out. You've been here long enough to know how things work around here.

How about the fact that I was expressing my opinion that was not directed toward anyone particular. I find it particularly offensive when men are called pigs and dogs by both female and male members of AT community, would that sort of expression require a lock on the thread?

Could you define term "flaming" though, I hear it a lot, but you are the first one to apply it to my words?

flaming is just when people start insulting eachother back and forth. thats why it was locked, it was visible that the thread was just going to turn into an insult fest.

How exactly was a discussion about a term BBW and obesity going to turn into AT members insulting each other? Can you point out to how it was "visible" that it would turn into a flame-fest. Flamefests usually involve discussions on topics Yankees vs Canuks, Pro-war vs Anti-war, Israel vs Palestine, Republicans vs Democarts, Lakers vs 49ers. How would a discussion on a BBW turn into a flame fest exactly? Who will be opposing parties here?

Its ridiculous that the thread was locked just when the discussion was starting out. Sad! Very sad....

I wish it was possible to find out who exactly locked the thread so we could see who is granted the power they abuse.
