Toronto is not the most multicultural city in the world.

I live in San Jose, CA which is 31.8% White, 3.1% African American, 30.3% Asian, 31.5% Hispanic, and 3.3% (much more than GTA's 43% minorities) and it probably isn't the most multicultural city in the world.

Congratulations, I guess. Other than having your fellow travellers in the church of your fetish god say "hallelujia and hosanna to multiculturalism in the highest, " I'm not sure why this is relevant.

I grew up in the most multicultural city on earth. 50% Catholic, 35% Lutheran, 10% Methodist, and 10% assorted freaks; 90% white, 5% even whiter, and 5% exchange students.

One thing that is really incredible about Toronto is that it's one of the few multicultural success stories in the world. I can't think of anywhere else with such a diverse mix of people that actually get along.

Crime is incredibly low for such demographics.

Toronto still sucks though.

Seconded, I live in the outer districts of Vancouver and when I go into Vancouver there are a ton of visible minorities, the thing is, way out in the country where I live, there is still a ton of visible minorities.

True. All my life I don't think I've ever seen a racially motivated incident.

If you have a cat, and you bring another cat home, it's going to get ugly. If you have a pound full of cats, everyone gets along. The way I see it, the city is so saturated with different folk, if you decide to hate them, there's going to be a LOT of people to hate, and that's just not worth it.

Also true.

3 out of 3, you're on a roll. I can safely say I would NOT miss this place was there a need to move.

If you're thinking of visiting Toronto, don't bother, there's nothing here. If you must, and you're planning on bringing a bike, plan on leaving without it. It's the only city in the world where it's physically possible to own a negative number of bikes, that's the only thing of interest.

You really have to go far from Vancouver before running into towns that are almost all White. In fact, now that I think of it I'm not sure if I've ever seen such a place. Things certainly have changed a lot since the '70's, but even then in the Southern regions of BC there were Japanese families everywhere(unfortunately due to WW2 Internment and many staying in the area afterwards). Other Minorities have been slow to move to smaller communities away from Vancouver, but they're trickling out there.

Living in Coquitlam now and I love the fact that within 5 minutes of leaving my apartment I've seen pretty much people of every race and probably from over a dozen different countries. I haven't a clue how many foreign languages I can hear spoken, but my Bank machine offers service in 6. It's like having the whole World outside my doors.
