Why this error message?

Running W2K Pro SP2, stand alone home PC. At every reboot I receive the following error message:
The IP address lease 192.168.0.2 for the Network Card with network address 0000947996D0 has been denied by the DHCP server 192.168.0.1 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).

I'm using the NetGear Gateway Router RT314. I'm not having any problems I'm aware of, just that persistent error message each and every reboot and startup. Any ideas?
Thank you.

As far as I know, that message usually means that it's attempting to re-lease an address that is no longer available. Have you checked the other systems on the network to see if one of them has it?

Also, I don't know about the Netgear, but on the Linksys you can specify the maximum addresses available. If that number were set too low, it might also generate the error.

EDIT: OOPS! Just noticed you said stand-alone PC. HMM...
