Why "The Matrix" sucks.

Ok, so I'm going to be bashed for this...BUT.

I was watching the Animatrix, and "The Second Renaissance", part two. The part where mankind tries to use nukes against the machines. But, the voiceover says "The machines were invunerable to the heat and radiation from a nuclear blast."

Ok. First off, NO METAL WE HAVE can survive a nuke at blast point. 300,000 degrees celsius. Even if someone disagrees with me, like saying "They might be made of ceramics..." then that brings me to point two

WE KNOW from the later films that EMP kills the machines. Therefore, when a nuke goes off, the EMP generated from a nuclear blast MUST kill the machines.

Just thought I'd bring that up.

dude, stop trying to distill meaning from a sh!tty copycat, lack of original thought and ideas, money making joke

of course not much survives the blast but the point is that the major killer of nuclear weapons, the surrounding radiation, does not affect machines.

Good point on the EMP though. Not sure how widespread an EMP from a nuke is.

range of the nuke and EMP is extremely limited though

they would be immune to the fallout though and i am thinking that is what they are refererring to

edit: grammar

300K C at the blast point, but that drops VERY quickly. Same thing with the EMP, limited range.

There is not an unlimited supply of nuclear weapons (or launch/delivery equipment).

At the end of the day it's just a movie though.

Viper GTS

but the Animatrix, from my knowledge, had nothing to do with the actual Matrix (as far as the W Bro's story). i heard they asked 9 different artists to come up with their vision of what the matrix is, and then they created them based on their own vision of "what the matrix is."

Yeah, everything's been covered pretty well here. EMP doesn't have a massive range, nor does the heat wave. It's also possible to shield electronics from EMP.
I liked all the movies, but haven't gotten around to watching all of the Animatrix.

I haven't seen the Animatrix garbage, but did it specify how many megatons or what kind of nuke (fission or fusion)?

I absolutely hated the way they ended. The third movie sucked entirely actually. And was it necessary for them to be so biblically oriented? The first movie dropped a lot of hints that this would be the case, Zion and the rest. And the second dropped even more hints, but I never dreamed it would take the whole Jesus way out in the end. Total cop out, and a ripoff if you ask me

I thought the first movie was terrible. I was laughing out loud during that horrible karate training scene with Fishburn and Reeves. It's was simply retarded. It kept going downhill from there. Never saw the others and never will; especially if fans of the first ones don't like 'em.

I liked the Animatrix way more than the regular movies. It explained a lot more than the movies too. Like the haunted house(explained that paranormal phenomina like ghosts and such are errors in the matrix, and Final Flight of the Osiris ties in with the movie being they were the ones that found out about the machines getting ready to attach Zion.

agreed, I dont understand why they couldnt leave the Biblical implications out of it

Somebody explain to me how the machines get free energy (harvesting body energy).

They say in the first movie "this, combined with a form of fusion...."

So they have fusion power too. I think the human energy part is a cool idea, but I agree it doesn't make much sense.

Wow I hated the last 2 movies.. the first one I liked cause at the end it seemed like Neo had started to figure stuff out.. then the next 2 movies he was like running around "WTF? Who am I? What should I do?" He was a pansy the whole time when he should have been kicking butt - and the ending sucked. (the race scene in the second movie is worth a watch if you like action clips)

Last Word - The CGI of Neo when they didnt have Keanu doing things was HORRIBLE - looked like a cartoon all rubbery and soft.
