I don't like Trump because he's an authoritarian and a liar. Partisanship and even ideology have almost nothing to do with it, but I'm sure the OP enjoys making up other people's arguments for them.

lol +1

Those who cannot laugh at this election cycle are going to have a very rough four years.

And kudos to Atlanta for having such classy protesters.
It's the way protests should be conducted, with friendship between the peacekeepers and the protesters, with arrangements for porta potties, clean-up, speakers and security. This whole bullshit of confrontation, violence, vandalism and threat needs to stop. If you look at the hatred that was aimed at the Tea Party look at their "events" to see how protests should be conducted.

The term 'Authoritarian Left' is just another play on the Big Lie. The Trumpian Right refuse to recognize that much of their agenda will logically result in bad acting which would be harmful to large groups of people. To remain blind to the consequences of their agenda, they must imagine that only evil stands against them.

Trump is worse than a liar. He's the world's greatest bullshit artist.

Frankfurt’s key observation is that the liar, even as he or she might spread untruth, inhabits a universe where the distinction between truth and falsehood still matters. The bullshitter, by contrast, does not care what is true or not. By his or her bluffing, dissimulation, and general dishonesty, the bullshit artist works to erase the very possibility of knowing the truth. For this reason, bullshit is more dangerous than lies, since it erodes even the possibility of truth existing and being found.

I just have this to say about this thread;no matter what these Lunatic liberals/libertarians think or do, Trump is the American President for at least 4 year, with the Senate Majority,he is gonna have all the justices on his side to produce policy,Military,Police, and so on , so these people have to suck it up,or just keep snow-flaking,crying,rioting and living miserable the rest of his presidency, you have an alternative move to Canada or other country, hope if you decide to stay, anything that Trump does good for American people just do not take it, and refuse, and long live President Trump and make America great again.

You don't get the point. WE are 100% convinced that he won't be doing *anything* "good for the people". There is not an inch of evidence for this.
Do you think we'd be ranting against Trump if we think he'd actually do something "good for the people"? What reason should we have to?

He's a wannabe pretend populist CLAIMING that he's the next incarnation of Christ "doing good for the people", but this is nothing but rhetoric. His actions, and actually his entire PAST as a shady businessman shows that he won't ever (and never has) anything to do with wanting to do good "for the people", the belief why a majority of people actually voted for him.

The US was founded on the concept of dissent to authority. We will respect legal uses of power, but we will not "suck it up" and be silent when we see government curtailing our rights and freedoms, rejecting science and tolerating (or even endorsing) corruption. Authoritarian cowards demand unquestioning obedience; real freedom-lovers at least accept that protests will happen, even if they don't believe in the causes of the protests themselves.

More like you're grasping at straws in an attempt to rationalize your irrational fear and hatred.
Here's a nice piece on the Authoritarian-left.
http://nationalinterest.org/feature/beware-the-rise-left-wing-authoritarianism-19145

"In its own cowardly way, the center-left goes even further, with the liberals in the media giving David Duke and other white-nationalist crackpots far more attention than they receive from any actual right-wing outlet. The urge to brand everyone on the right as a racist and authoritarian by association drives certain self-righteous journalists—and some who are just cynically chasing ratings—to act as publicists for the Klan and neo-Nazis. This can only have a radicalizing effect on everyone in the long run: it draws a small number of the stupid and resentful to the Klan’s banner; it creates the impression in the minds of timid liberal viewers that right-wing extremists are on the rise (and logically, must be forcefully countered by government or street action); and it outrages and polarizes conservative viewers who are sick of seeing a partisan media shower attention upon marginal extremists on the right while turning a blind eye to left-wing intimidation. "

And how is this different from how many on the right brand everyone on the left as a socialist, commie, gun grabber, or as (your favorite term) "the authoritarian left"?

But you're with them, anyway, right? Of course you are, right there in the pews of the Trump cathedral.

Oh God! Not the evil gun grabbers! There will be hippies, commies, anarchists & all kinds of leftists! lounging on the lawn before you know it.

The 'appellation' does not fit me at all. You are free to do or say whatever you feel like, and I am similarly free to disagree, criticize, etc. If the latter makes you feel oppressed, that's your problem not mine. Freedom is a two way street. I suggest you get over it.
