Why the hell does ESPN.com have popups?

I'm very surprised such a large media enterprise would stoop to agreeing to have them.

Highly annoying given the amount of time I spend there. :|

And they have some of the most annoying ones. It's partly why I don't visit their site that often anymore.

And please stop whining.

this is a legitimate complaint, and i'm sure i'm backed by plenty of people. and i can't install a popup stopper on my company laptop.

Not o mention the little flash advertisements especially the ones with sound that I get occasionally when I go there.

Mozilla Firebird doesn't have an installer. Just unzip it to your home path and create a shortcut on your desktop. All it's settings are kept on config files inside the directory and not in the registry.

I stopped going to ESPN.com for that reason and the fact that their site is just so sloooowww to load.

Ever since they went to the ESPN Motion crap their site is slow as hell. They think they are improving on something when all they did was make it a large steaming pile of crap.

The only problem is that Mozilla sometimes has trouble displaying ESPN.com (this could be on purpose).

They do have a lite site, BTW: http://lite.espn.go.com

The only thing I've noticed is that you can't run motion.

MyIE browser allows for scripts/activex/flash all to be turned on/off independently very easily. It also has a great popup killer, never get one on espn. Mo
Try it.
