Why the hell do people need to touch my monitor?

This is the very reason I have 2 mice attached to my computer. If they want to point, I tell them to use the wireless mouse. It works for me.

Make sure the cleaner DOES NOT contain ammonia.

It's just a ****** LCD screen, people rightfully assume that smudging up the display couldn't do it much more harm. The surface is fairly coarse so it makes it pretty easy to wipe your hands clean after eating a bucket of chicken. Just goes to show you, it's good for something.

If on the other hand they lay a finger on a CRT, I understand completely; knock em out and dig a ditch in the back yard.

You're one of those people that has a 1/2" thick layer of grease, dirt, dust and fingerprints on your display, aren't you?

BTW, it can hurt an LCD to clean it just as much as it can hurt it to have morons jabbing it with their fat greasy fingers. It's better to not have to clean it except to dust it off once in a while.

To me, touching the screen seems more kinestetic than visual. The visual one would be ther person that can't stand to have greasy fingerprints on their monitor. Whether or not it takes a few seconds to clean it or not, people should have the common decency to not put their fingers on the monitor.

God I fvcking hate this, it happens constantly at work. I will be helping someone with an issue on a server and someone will come up and touch my laptop screen. I've taken to just telling them to stop it or just getting out my screen cleaner to clean it right after they do it.

My boss does that to my 20" Cinema Display, but he paid for it, so he can use a sharpie on it if he wants. I actually wish he did that, so I can get a 30" Cinema Display.
