Why the hell do etailers take "PayPal" payments if it still requires the use of a creditcard?!@

I'm trying to get some shopping done here, and figured I'd use my PayPal account. Well... loe and behold, the PayPal checkout asks for credit card information, and the etailer also accepts credit cards as normal. WTF? Am I missing something here?

So they can drain both your CC and bank accounts at once, w00t!

It does seem odd for an etailer to collect CC information if you are paying with PayPal, at least if you are using your confirmed / verified shipping address.

That's the point. I *do* have money in my paypal account and I *do* want to purchase their goods with it. So why the need for a creditcard? I'm confused.

The one drawback that PayPal still hasn't addressed (with the virtual numbers) is that many retailers require a CVC2 number (the 3-digit security code that's on the back of most "real" cards) and they don't provide one.

Actually - it was because my account isn't verified and I didn't have a credit card linked to it - hence a $0 sending limit.
