why the hell do banks always say theyre closed when theyre open?

Damned banks! I'm trying to get a loan right now, and it seems like ever friggin time I call around the beginning or end of business hours they tell me theyre closed.

Automated voice: Thanks for calling, were open from 9 to 5 monday - friday.

Gee, thats friggin fantastic, especially since Im calling at 9:30 or 4:30 so you should have someone answering the damned phone instead of giving me some recording.
