Bah, who wants to be a quitter?

Lung cancer cures smoking just surely as liver cirrhosis cures drinking.

Some of perfer a choice in 'how' we 'quit'. ;)

Hey, ya know... we all gotta die of something.
at 50 years old?

i know . . . it's the premature pain and suffering that go with the self-caused diseases and rather shorted life by excesses that concern some of us.

Why bother to exercise? :p
. . . it would be a "waste" also. ;)

what's "once in awhile" ?

and alcoholism always wins , , , depends how short you want to cut your life.

Dying from alcohol-related causes in painful and not at all pretty. . . if it were just "death", it might not be so bad . . . but first you get to suffer . . . and suffer till you die.

Seems silly to me to spend time building up your body - regularly and religiously - and then to tear it down with excess alcohol. . . . but that is just my POV.

Sounds like diabetes. Consult your local physician immediately. Failing that, consult your mortician.

A few times a month. Usually I don't drink 'till I'm smashed, I just maintain a nice buzz while out with my friends.

But thanks for the temperance lecture, Carrie Nation

What was your poison? I'm ok if I stick to beer, if I start doing shots with beers I'm dust the next day. These days I usually only go to a bar 3 or 4 times a year if that but in the old days it was 2 to 3 times a week. Can't do that anymore, to expensive plus I can't drink like I use to when I was in my 20's

From previous threads I think we agree that our culture has a fvcked up and unhealthy relationship with alcohol. Good lord people, calm down and have a drink.

That's what did me in. Someone came back from buying a round of beers with some Goldschlager. Not to be out done, the next guy to buy a round came back with some Jager Bombs... and it all went down hill from there. I vaguely remember some tequila, and some kamikazis...

Jesus, after a night like that I'd be cured of going to a bar for at least 6 months.

Yeah, I'm cured for a while. LOL Though I get to spend this evening at a friend's bar helping him with security (mainly just talking to pretty drunk girls and throwing out the occational drunk). I don't think I'll be drinking.

Speaking of feeling like crap, I need to go to the gym here soon. Wish me luck on that. Today is shoulders and biceps.

Thank GAWD it isn't leg day!
