why the heck does amazon hold crap before shipping it?

I bought a knife set on Feb 25th from Amazon. Even today it still says "In stock, usually ships within 24 hours" The idiots there haven't even shipped out my order yet. Why does Amazon sit on an order when they have the items in stock?

Yep, it's a real PITA...

Some stuff is amazing, ordered a Harmony remote & it showed up the next freaking day with free shipping, I was shocked...

Other orders suck donkey balls like this one:

Delivery estimate: March 16, 2005 - April 1, 2005

I should have the order tomorrow, it's at a local UPS center now...

if you pick super saver they will ship it when all the people who paid for shipping have had their items sent. if you order often from amazon, i would suggest sigining up for prime, all items will be shipped out immediatly.

i ordered a Sony xbrite LCD on March 1st, w/ super saver shipping. It still hasn't shipped yet...argh. Usually I get a confirmation in 2 business days. Good thing tho is that it only takes max 3 days to ship something to me once it has left the hub.

I'm waiting for my Logitech Wheel... should have just paid the extra for fast shipping.

I always feel that way when i opt for the free shipping. I was trying to save a few $ though.
