Why the glut of Samsung memory sticks?

I was looking over at eBay...anyone know why there always seems to be a huge glut of Samsung memory sticks over there? What truck did these all fall out the back of? Also, I thought companies like Samsung and Nanya just produced chips for OEMs, not the entire RAM modules.

Samsung is one of the largest producers of memory chips and modules. And they have always had a rep for high quality - Corsair uses only hand selected Samsung chips on their high-perf modules. So if you can buy 100% Samsung modules at a low price, don't look a gift-horse in the mouth.
. Of course, there is always the potential of counterfeiting so there is such a thing as "too good of a deal". On eBay I would want to get 100% Samsung modules - not just Samsung chips as there is less chance of the entire module being counterfeit, while it is relatively easy to remark chips.

Ditto what Zep said. I've even gotten a Samsung module from Crucial on occassion. If Crucial trusts them enough to ship them with THEIR lifetime warranty behind 'em, that's good enough for me.

Hmmm interesting. I still wonder where all these people are getting these though. It looks like almost 2/3 of all the RAM on auction are Samsung, mostly non-retail packaging or used. Cannabalized from Dells and HPs maybe?
