I totally don't understand the whole concept of thanking God. Sure, God might or might not have an influence on what you've accomplished, but dayamn, why can't people just thank themselves? Or maybe they should at least the people that 'physically' helped them along their way. I say artists should thank themselves more often. I've also noticed something else. I guess different cultures allocate different amounts of gratitude towards their God. I have noticed that asian's hardly ever speak of their God as helpful.

Excuse me if you find that i'm rambling, i'm quite bored.
 
some people like myself feel that we have a personal relationship with God and that were not just objects to God and that everything that happens to us is a result of God. since God's in control, doesnt He deserve thanks?

My in laws didn't like it when I said 'God bless you' when they sneezed.

They are charismatic Christians and apparently took offense when I indulged in that societal nicety. Apprarently, there is something wrong with saying that...

If someone believes in a higher being that gave them everything, then thanks is natural. Otherwise, just pat yourself on the back (but don't wind up like Killbat did here).
