The officer was putting this flashlight right in eyes and i thought he was gonna nail me with it..those things are huge..some mid 20 year old prick.

You, sir, are a dumbass. Please don't breed. I wish that cop had given you a solid whack with the old Maglite.

ya smokin a joint with a couple friends consititues an officer of threatening you and breaking every bone in your body. This guy was a total jerk off and he was being such a prick until my friend who is a customs officer showed him his badge and the officer started being alot nicer. I could see if we were doing something violent, he could threaten but smokin a j with 4 friends in a parking lot ready to go into a bar. The funny thing is they didnt even take the joint...once they left we finished smoking it...my only bad experience with a cop.

I'm sure he used those exact words "break every bone in your body" too. And I'm sure you cooperated fully right from the start. And I'm positive your friend is a customs officer as well. They regularily consume prohibited substances, especially when the job entails drug tests and a mandantory "pass" or you're canned.

By "showed him his badge" do you mean "blubbered like a little girl and begged the officer not to tell Mommy on him"?

Actually the exact words were "if you move a finger off the hood ill fvckin break every fvckin bone in your body" There were a total of 3 cops, 1 with a camera, anothr one who was talkin to my other friends who was quite nice and this asshole who was talkin to me and my buddy. They were all undercover wearing street clothes. And my friend who is a customs officer does not smoke marijuana at all, but my other 2 friends did. And to be a customs officer, there are no drug tests to be taken or even be taken.
Yes, when my buddy saw this officer being a prick, he stepped in, showed his badge and said whats the problem. After that, the officer wasnt as much as a prick.

Assuming your story's true, nothing wrong there. That's called "protecting himself". Maybe you're not dumb enough to do it, but there's plenty of morons with nothing but tapioca between their ears who would try to attack him for taking away thier precious Chronic. You were in possession of an illegal substance. He decided to let you off lightly. Just be happy he didn't take it away and throw you in the drunk tank.

Protecting himself from what...4 guys gonna attack 3 armed police officers...ya. Ive been caught with marijuana before and everytime the cop just takes it away and says go on you way. I was there...you weren't. His behaviour was way over the hill in terms of how a police officer should conduct themselves. Who sticks a Maglite in someones eyes 1 inch from someones face unless needed to. Who the hell threatens bodily harm over a joint. My friend agreed he was way overzealous and being a prickshot. His partner was a cool guy but this guy was a total loser.

Thank you for showing your total lack of experience with law enforcement. Responding to the rest of your idiocy is no longer required. They're outnumbered, arresting you, and you're outside a bar, with a high likelihood of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. That's plenty reasonable force IMO.

They approached us, we were being cooperative and listening to them, this guy was just being a total a$$hole. Im sorry if you think every officer plays by the rules. This was a type of officer of that if you told him off he would have probably planted coke on you or something and brought you down to the station. This officer was abusive of his power and a crooked cop, plain and simple.

COPS RULE! - That sums it up nicely. Cops are trained to "Control the situation". THat means that they're trained to be asshats. Harass people, beat them down if necessary and make them feel COMPLETELY inferior, that's the job of a cop. That's why we hate them so much.

Ofcourse, they don't do their jobs when around:

1. Pretty girls - cause they probably believe if they're nice enough, they may get laid or something (love potion number 9).

2. Rich people - Cause they want to associate themselves with the rich and powerful.

3. Friends and family - Why not.

The United States is such the bastion of freedom, it is only natural for some people to have a problem with authority.

You are in the US. You have no rights. Get over it.

You must be confused. You're probably on that Mary-Jew-Wanna stuff again, aren't you? Smoking the Reefer? Puff Puff Pass? Don't look at me with those bloodshot eyes, you know what I'm talking about!

For those too dumb to understand, I'm not trying to say that law X is right or wrong. The point I want to get across here is that if you break a law, be prepared to deal with the consequences. Don't whine and bitch at the police for enforcing the law. That's their job.

Because they have organized unions which allow them to break the law at any time without consequences.
Oops, pulled the trigger on an unarmed person who posed them no threat? No biggie, the union will bail them out - there won't even be an indictment.

Because they seem more interested in "making busts" than solving crimes. Ever been a crime victim, like a robbery, burgarly, auto theft, assault, etc.? Go ahead and call the cops, but don't expect them to help you much more than to tell you to go downtown to file a report. I know this from personal experience. They don't care, and will tell you so.

Because they selectively enforce the laws. Because of them and our fscked court system, we no longer have rule of law, we have fear of law, it's so unpredictable.

Like everything else, there are good and bad cops. Good cops are some of the best people on this planet. But the way they cover up for the bad cops (and you only ever need to meet one in your whole life to change your mind about cops in general forever) through their unions and otherwise is unforgiveable.

Law is important. It is the glue that holds our society together. The police are our protectors of the law. But who protects us from the protectors? Right now, no one...

Rollers suck big time. I know several that are nice guys but they are biased and unfair. It is a total crock of crap that since i know one I get a free get out of trouble card. He says it will work 99.9% of the time. The thing is though he gave it to me for fixing his pc, but he gives them to his good friends/family all the time and anyone else who is important. There is no reason that certain people should be exempt from tickets, etc.

There is a big difference between a cop when they are talking to you on the street, and when they are handing you a ticket. Most of the times I see one, their lights are on and they are parked behind me :(

yeaaaah. what amazes me is that people don't seem to understand that selective enforcement is not the same as blanket enforcement.

"but you're breaking the law!!!" Selectively enforced laws (especially laws that are enforced in a minority of circumstances, like speeding on a highway/expressway) in effect keep the majority of constituents from pressuring representatives to make laws just and utilitarian, and at the same time they become the basis for unequal (at best arbitrary) treatment of a frequently criminalized majority. This directly opposes the democratic rule of law.

Taken to an extreme, imagine drinking water was criminalized, but enforcement was extremely small (like .005%). The state becomes totalitarian, all bend to the will of those who weild power. Joe Sfitzer wants to run against the present representative... late at night he's arrested because of his criminal activity (drinkling water! that bastard was breaking the law!!!). What's the effect?

Obviously this is hyperbole. Nonetheless, the principle remains. Inequality fuels a lot of the animosity towards law enforcement.

When I was 15 I got a new motorcycle and was just running it back and forth down my street. I lived in a small community right next to a giant field where people would go riding all the time. A cop happened to pull by and I was right infront of my house and he gave 500 dollars worth of tickets (speeding, no registration, + like 5 more i don't remember) and confonscated my bike. Jerkass. I was only 15, I didn't know what was going on. It was my dads bike and if my dad was home he would have ripped that cop a new one. He was pissed that this cop confonscated the bike of a 15 year old. I should also mention he called in backup and had another squad car come and a motorcycle cop come.

Then again just a few weeks ago I was going about 90 in a 60 and got pulled over but the cop let me off with 69 in a 60 saying he would let me off but 30mph over is just too much.

Number 1 = bad cop
Number 2 = Nice cop

i dont like taking the risk that i get the asshole cop so i just try to stay away form them altogether
So, the cop who enforced the law is good and the one who didn't is bad?

Interesting take on that situation.
