Why so much lag in UT with cable?

I have comcast cable internet and get pretty fast connections. I just recently installed UT to play again but I'm getting significant lag. I'm running a D-Link DI-614+ router and if wonder if I need to do something to eliminate the lag. There is a setting that is called Special Applications List that seem to list specific programs and possibly the ports they need.

Special Application is used to run applications that require multiple connections

ex1: battle.net
trigger: 6112
public: 6112

ex2: MSN Gaming Zone
trigger: 47624
public: 2300-2400,28800-29000

These seem like ports for specific applications. There's the Trigger and then there's Public. Though numerous ones are listed, they all seem to be disabled.

Someone enlighten me please 🙂

Depends on what servers you're playing. When I'm in good servers for CS, my cable connection gets me 20-40ms piung.

found out that it's port 7777 🙂

still a little laggy on some occassions. Friend has dsl is better for online gaming vs. cable.
