why so many kinds of glue

I need to reattach the rubber lining on the door - the one that goes between the body and the door when you shut the door.

What kind of glue can get the job done cheap?

The weatherstripping.

Use wadded up duck tape or JB Weld.

...seriously though, a thin bead of emblem adhesive would work well. You may have to spread it smooth with a popsicle stick.

yes, they sell weather stripping adhesive both at auto parts stores and hardware stores. works well too. really stringy tho, make sure its not breezy
